I will protect you

An Art Installation Commissioned by World Art Dubai 2017.

The Concept:

Since the beginning of time, humanity’s actions have largely  been guided by our oldest, most basic instincts: fear of the unknown and the need to feel safe. 

Humankind has a subconscious desire for security, and this led to the  creation of protective signs and symbols.

These engendered a belief in their ability to protect us from forces that are beyond our control and as a talisman to counter envy, malevolence in all its forms, and misfortune. 

 

Inspired by these iconic symbols, 

“I will protect you” is a collection of hand painted wall mounted ceramic plates that invite viewers to look into the eyes and deep into our own self.
